The Big Five

For reasons good and bad… they were the news.

The Hot Five

A quintet of sizzling conversation starters.

Bower Exits

On Monday, Southern Mississippi Coach Jeff Bower resigned. During his tenure, Bower logged a 119-82-1 ledger. He also recorded fourteen consecutive winning seasons. Bower’s resignation is bizarre. He may be drained. He may be exhausted. With that stated, Bower won. Southern Mississippi will miss him.

Drumming Out the Dinosaur

On Tuesday, Colorado State discharged Coach Sonny Lubick. During his tenure, Lubick accrued a 105-65 record. Lubick’s virtual termination was deserved. He was respectable. Yet, he was also a dinosaur. Football owned him. This was impeding Colorado State.
