Two Campaigns, America Rejects Edwards

On Wednesday, former Senator John Edwards renounced his presidential candidacy. In 2004, Edwards was an optimistic darling. In 2008, he was a replication amongst originals. Following Iowa, his failure was predictable.

Edwards’ aspirations were noble. Elevating citizens and extinguishing poverty were righteous objectives. Unfortunately, Edwards’ continual pandering and smarminess rendered them impossible. His nauseating persona reinforced the obvious… Messenger trumps message.
