Game of Statements
On Tuesday, Bob Costas interviewed Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig, Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling, and former BALCO chemist Patrick Arnold. Barry Bonds was the principal topic.
Selig was contemptuous and evasive. Clearly, he abhors Bonds. Unfortunately, he is ensnared. His choices? Sanction the steroid era or convict Bonds. Schilling was direct. He assailed Bonds. However, his reasoning was brilliant. If Bonds were innocent, why not sure? Arnold was believable. Obviously, he is a criminal. With that stated, he perfected cheating. He would know a cheater.
