Canned Nattering Nabobs

On Sunday and Tuesday, CNN hosted presidential debates. These exercises were pointless. There were no winners. There were no losers. In fact, the lone extractable lesson from a sixty-second sound bite, answered with a thirty second sound bite, answered with another thirty-second sound bite, was timing.

Despite the circumstances, several candidates distinguished themselves. Republican luminaries included Governor Mike Huckabee, Senator John McCain, and Mayor Rudy Guiliani. Democratic stars included Senators Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, John Edwards, and Barack Obama.

Wolf Blitzer was a dreadful host. Additionally, CNN’s “Faith and Politics” special was ridiculous. In July, their format will include Youtube. I hope they improve.
