NEW RULE

Oversight is critical.

In January, South Africa’s Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls opened. Allegedly, physical and sexual abuse have occurred. Yesterday, Winfrey apologized. She cried. Winfrey’s objective was noble. Her execution was apocryphal. Winfrey could have remained vigilent. Daily, she could have inquired.

Unfortunately, Winfrey is a celebrity. She wrote a check. She received publicty. She exited. Directly, she is not responsible. However, this is a lesson. Celebrities should be charitable. They should address problems. They should also maintain auhtority.
