On Wednesday, the Chicago Cubs traded catcher Michael Barrett to the San Diego Padres. As reciprocation, the Cubs received catcher Rob Bowen and minor league outfielder Kyler Burke. On June 1, Barrett and Carlos Zambrano clashed. Since this altercation, Barrett’s role has been reduced. Barrett was a cancer. He was an immense talent. However, he was not worth discord. Occasionally, eviction trumps rehabilitation.
