God Road Trip A Great Film

On Monday, HBO aired “Friends of God.” Directed by Alexandra Pelosi, I was nervous as to the tone the film would assume. The film was outstanding. Presented without editorial comment, the documentary was an accurate depiction of the evangelical movement.

Crisscrossing the nation, the film showcased mega churches, music, comedy, and the Christian Wrestling Federation. Pelosi also interviewed several evangelic leaders, including Jerry Falwell and Ted Haggard. Upon conclusion, one truly has an appreciation for evangelicals’ technique.

Pelosi has proven herself as a director. “Friends of God” is worth more than the one-hour duration.
