Last week, Asif Ali Zardari, Benazir Bhutto’s husband, announced his presidential candidacy. Zardari’s election will not cure Pakistan. His election may not improve Pakistan. However, Zardari will restore hope. Hope matters. Journalists can analyze, evaluate, and report. Yet, Zadari is their preference. He is the world’s preference.
