Fata Compli Team Triumphs

In the 1972 Olympics, the Soviet Union defeated the United States. In 1976 and 1984, America garnered gold. In the 1988 Olympics, the Soviet Union defeated the United States. In 1992, 1996, and 2000, America garnered gold. In the 2004 Olympics, Argentina, Lithuania, and Puerto Rico defeated the United States. In 2008, victory was assumed.

On Sunday, the United States defeated Spain 118-107. Dwayne Wade recorded 27 points. Kobe Bryant registered 20 points and 6 assists. With their victory, America scored their thirteenth gold medal.

In the Olympics, the United States was spectacular. Their overall record was 8-0. They scored 106.3 points per contest. They surrendered 78.4 points per contest. In the preliminary round, America outscored their opponents 103-71. In the medal round, America outscored their opponents 118-91.

America’s success was inevitable. Excitement and tension were imaginary. Anxiety and concern were obnoxious. Explain my arrogance? America was serious. In basketball, we suffer. We react seriously. Why not other sports?
