On Friday, the Pittsburgh Pirates fired Manager Jim Tracy. During his tenure, Tracy posted a 135-189 record. Tracy’s firing is inconsequential. His exodus will not initiate improvement. The Pirates are abysmal. Their abyss is self-inflicted. Their management is apathetic and stupid. Consistently, they embarrass their city and franchise. Obviously, the Pirates are small market. However, the Cleveland Indians and Oakland Athletics are small market. Since 1993, they have accrued twelve postseason appearances. The Pirates could improve. Sadly, they do not care.
