Smoke & Democrats

On Wednesday, President Bush vetoed an insurance expansion. President Bush’s action was appropriate. No one opposes insuring children. With that stated, the Democrats were unseemly. A sixty-one cent cigarette tax increase? The aforesaid is regressive.

Everyone adores children. Everyone abhors smoking. However, this debate is not that. This debate is nuanced. Simply stated, Democrats must compromise. Smoking may be abhorrent. However, a tax increase is asinine.
