Expectedly Woods Wins Thirteenth

Potential and success are not synonymous. Potential traverses multiple paths. Potential haunts. Potential overshadows. Potential swallows. Both Sergio Garcia and Tiger Woods possessed potential. Following Saturday’s third round, Garcia was disqualified. Meanwhile, Woods continued exceeding expectations.

On Sunday, Woods garnered the PGA Championship. Despite scorching Southern Hills, Woods carded a final round one under par, sixty-nine. His total eight under part bested Woody Austin (-6). Ernie Els (-5) finished third. Arron Oberholser and John Senden (-1) knotted for fourth.

After closing Thursday with a bogey, Woods commenced Friday with a birdie. He then racked consecutive pars. Following successive birdies, Woods pared hole six. After bogeying seven, Woods logged a pair-birdie combination. Standing two under, Woods accelerated. He tallied a fifth birdie. Following a pair of pars, Woods racked three birdies. He then pared sixteen, seventeen, and eighteen. His final score? A seven under par, sixty-three.

During the finale, Woods commenced with par. After bogeying two, he recorded a par-birdie combination. He then chalked consecutive pars. After birdying seven and eight, Woods bogeyed nine. He then logged four pars. Following a bogey-birdie combination, Woods posted three straight pars.

With his victory, Woods scored his thirteen major and third PGA championship. He is dominant. He has no rival. Eventually, he will surpass Jack Nicklaus. Woods is not perfect. He has flaws. However, he has transcended potential.
