Simon Suspension Deserved

On Friday, the NHL suspended New York Islanders forward Chris Simon indefinitely. Simon’s act was premeditated and vicious. The severe punishment is appropriate.
Ironically, HBO’s Real Sports profiles Simon this month. The program discusses his career, his personal demons, and his relationship with Coach Ted Nolan. Simon is portrayed as respectable. Bryant Gumbel compliments him: “Simon is repaying his coach’s trust in him, playing in every Islanders game this season.”
