Minneapolis 2008: Grandpa Lieberman Typifies Trust

On Tuesday, Senator Joe Lieberman addressed the Republican National Convention. Lieberman’s speech was stellar. His perspective was sensitive. His rhetoric was collegial and respectful. Akin to one’s grandfather, Lieberman was compassionate and engaging. As he spoke, one presumed trust.

Tonight, Lieberman approached the alienated and estranged. He approached the occasional voter. He approached the nonpartisan; who simply expects results. Certainly, Democrats abhorred tonight. I imagine they screamed. They should not. This evening, Lieberman represented their renounced character.
