On Friday, the San Francisco 49ers chose a quarterback. J.T. O’Sullivan is their starter. San Francisco’s decision is intriguing. In 2005, Alex Smith was selected first. Predictably, he was ineffective and weak. His statistics never equaled expectations. O’Sullivan is not an improvement. However, Smith must be shed.
