Line of the Morning: Sound Bite Politics

During ABC’s This Week, the Republicans debated. George Stephanopoulos was an adequate host. Unfortunately, his format was cramped. Dialogue was diluted. Sound bites were disproportionate.

Amidst this recital, candidates flourished and floundered. Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Governor Mike Huckabee, and Senator John McCain were exemplary. McCain was stellar. Conversely, Governor Tommy Thompson, Senator Sam Brownback, and Congressman Ron Paul and Tom Tancredo were embarrassing. They should promptly withdraw.
