Forgiving All Transgressions

On Wednesday, the NCAA granted Duke’s request. Thirty-three suspended players will receive another season. Concerning this decision, I am conflicted. Duke’s campaign cancellation was erroneous. The accused should have been suspended. The season should have continued. With that stated, the players embarrassed Duke. They warranted punishment. Granting a reprieve absolves them. This is unfortunate.
