Overwhelmingly, crowd reaction was positive. With that stated, she over sang. Randy tosses obligatory phrase, crowd cheers. Weak beginning.
Amy Krebs (22 – Washington)
Melissa Rivers phoned. She requested her face returned. Great beginning of her Bonnie Raitt cover. What is with the oversinging? You are contestants and amateurs. You are not Christina Aguilera. Simon’s initial derogatory metaphor… the contestant like a candle.
Leslie Hunt (24 – Illinois)
She is pathetic. “You make me feel…” is an emotional, vibrant song. Her performance was sans color, flair, and any properties. Aretha is screaming at the television…America, eliminate her!
Sabrina Sloan (27 – California)
Good performance. The appearance personnel accentuated her few positive features. She was not overly aggressive with the song. Simon is correct, best performance thus far.
Antonella Barba (27 – New Jersey)
Her appearance is a miserable failure. I know she borrowed Steven Tyler’s song. Did she have to borrow his lips? The performance was also wretched. She blames nerves. The song was emotionless and bland. If we were dating and she had sung me this, she would be sleeping alone. She requests advice. Mine is leave the show.
Jordin Sparks (17 - Arizona)
The ugliness continues. Fat teenagers should not wiggle as she is. Screaming to the crowd, final resort of those floundering. The song was overly poppy. Tracy Chapman is now screaming. Sparks should have chosen a different song. The judges are complimenting her? Are they hallucinating?
Nicole Tranquillo (20 – Pennsylvania)
Her appearance is flawless. However, her facial expressions are awkward. Her performance is respectable. While most have over sung, she is soulful. I completely disagree with Simon. Fake? I believed both her talent and beauty.
Haley Scarnato (24 – Texas)
Favorite Celine Dion song. Her performance is flawless. She does not over sing. She even nails the signature pause (any of my time on you since then). Her appearance is also scrumptious. What? She sounds old? Simon, I prefer mature over upbeat and ugly.
Melinda Doolittle (29 – Tennessee)
Can she block? The Oakland Raiders need a fullback. Her performance is terrible. The song is over sung. The song is overly bouncy. The song is stereotypical. The judges are complimenting her? Simon, she may not possess the arrogance. However, she definitely lacks the talent.
Alaina Alexander (24 – California)
This performance screams parody. Her singing is respectable. However, her dancing appears ritalin induced. She is also smiling excessively. “Brass In Pocket” is a great song. Her performance was marginal.
Gina Glocksen (22 – Illinois)
She expressed a desire to avoid being what she is not. She is unattractive and not talented. “All By Myself” is an emotional song. Her performance was cold.
LaKisha Jones (27 - Michigan)
Is she singing or selecting audience members to fight? Her song is over sung. Her performance is horrific. Her appearance is a nightmare. When will Idol realize obese women cannot sell records? She should have skipped Idol and auditioned for the Detroit Lions.
