For What It’s Worth

The NFL Draft marginalizes football. While career is considered, on field performance is a minor factor. The two days are a parade of selections for stupid reasons. Thus, the Senior Bowl is virtually irrelevant. While one can improve their rank, their status is ultimately subjective.

On Saturday, college football’s superstars clashed. Quarterbacks Drew Stanton, Tyler Palko, and Jordan Palmer were all impressive. Meanwhile, Heisman Trophy winner Troy Smith and National Champion Chris Leak struggled. Most Valuable Player Tony Hunt, Brian Leonard and Rhema McKnight shined as skill players. Kenny Irons, Dallas Baker, and Dwayne Bowe were sub par.

Defensively, the North’s Adam Carriker, Jay Moore, Paul Posluszny, and Amobi Okoye, and the South’s Tim Crowder and Tank Tyler sparkled. NFL Draft Countdown has extensive player information.
